Why I do it

I’m Kiz, a proudly disabled activist, strategist and facilitator. I’ve spent over a decade working across the union movement, not-for-profits and advocacy spaces, fighting equity and creating change from the inside out.

I’ve spent the past decade in the trenches of advocacy, activism and campaigning. I’ve worked and volunteered in unions, not-for-profits and grassroots movements, fighting for a world that’s fairer, more accessible, and more inclusive. My work spans everything from leading national policy campaigns, to creating accessible digital resources, to helping organisations write, and implement, their first ever Disability Action Plan.

I bring both lived and learned experience to everything I do. I know what it’s like to navigate systems that weren’t built for us, and I’ve spent years working to change those systems. My approach is practical, grounded, and deeply values-driven. I’m not here to hand over a glossy report and walk away. I’m here to work alongside you - to ask better questions, push for better outcomes, and help build structures that include and empower everyone.

The work I do isn’t just professional, it’s personal. I’ve seen how transformational inclusion can be when it’s done right. I’ve also experienced the harm caused when people are excluded, sidelined, or reduced to a checkbox. I want to make it easier for people and organisations to do the work well, and with care.

Whether you’re just getting started, or deep in the work already, I’m here to support you to move forward with clarity, confidence and community.

I believe in practical, values driven work that values
lived experience, builds power, and moves us towards real progress

What I bring to the table

I don’t just talk about inclusion, strategy and progress - I’ve lived it, led it and delivered it across sectors.

Over the past 12 years I’ve worked at the intersection of inclusion, organising, policy, and communication. I’ve led national advocacy campaigns, developed grassroots community action from the ground up, supported unions, not-for-profits, political offices and community organisations to embed access and equity in everything I do.

Here’s what I bring:

Disability Inclusion and Access Expertise

I’ve conducted accessibility audits, developed inclusive resources, and facilitated numerous co-design processes with disabled people and various marginalised communities. My work always centres lived experience, and focuses on what power a person has to make change the individual within the systems they operate in

Accessible Communications

I’ve created resources, toolkits, and content that is clear, inclusive and easy to engage with - including work for national and state based disability rights campaigns, service providers, youth organisations and political groups. I specalise in making complex or policy-heavy information accessible, without watering it down.

Lived and Learned Experience

As a proudly queer and disabled person, my perspective is grounded in real-world experience. I back this with ongoing professional development, and formal study in policy, strategy, government relations and communication.

Grassroots Community Organising

I have years of hands-on experience supporting my community, and organising them. From working as a union organiser - where I completed a Certificate IV in Organising and Industrial Relations, to being a workplace delegate and queer activist, I know how to build power from the ground up. This knowledge is embedded in everything I do as I seek to empower communities to work collectively.

Campaign Strategy

I’ve worked on national, state and local campaigns that shift public conversation, drive action, and win change. From social media and press, to policy submissions and action plans. I understand how to craft messaging, map power and build pressure, while still keeping access and inclusion front and centre.

Policy, Advocacy, Facilitation and Education

I’ve written submissions, trained teams, developed educational modules and facilitated workshops across sectors - always with a focus on equity, clarity and connection. Whether I’m writing a speech or holding space in a community room, I bring strong communication and a deep respect for lived experience.

If this sounds like the kind of energy you want to bring to your work - let’s chat. I’d love to hear what you’re working on and how I can support you.
